Man arrested after deputy shot during domestic violence call in Katy

The man accused of shooting a Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy while responding to a domestic call is now in custody.

A Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy was shot while responding to a domestic violence call in northwest Harris County on Friday evening.  A suspect in the incident was identified as Brady Joseph Ray, according to Harris County Sheriff, Ed Gonzales.

A deputy was responding to a domestic disturbance call at 11 p.m. Friday night on Plantation Tree Court. Authorities say that a woman’s ex-husband was attempting to break into her home.

When the deputy arrived on the scene, he was shot in the leg.  Cy-Fair EMS took the deputy to the hospital where he is now being treated.

Gonzales tweeted a picture of Brady Joseph Ray, as a person of interest in the case.  Brady Joseph Ray is described as 5’11” with a medium build.  He is wearing black shorts and a gray shirt. Gonzales says that the suspect is armed with a pistol.

After an extensive hours-long search, deputies finally tracked down Ray and arrested him.
