Teen fatally shot by cousin at Greenspoint apartment complex

A 16-year-old boy was shot to death by his cousin Thursday night at a Greenspoint apartment complex, according to Houston police.

The teen was shot in the head and had already dead by the time police found him in the 500 block of Greens Road around 8:45 p.m. in north Houston. The cousin who authorities were looking for fled the apartment building with the gun.

Police detained a female at the apartment building across from the Aldine-Greenspoint Family YMCA, authorities said.

Her role in the shooting was not immediately known.
