Man killed, another wounded in barrage of gunfire in Aldine

A man was killed and another was seriously injured in a barrage of gunfire Thursday near Aldine.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called out after a 911 caller heard several gunshots in the 5700 block of Easthampton Drive. When those deputies arrived, they found a man dead in the driver’s seat of Jeep Liberty, according to HCSO Homicide Lt. Robert Minchew

They also found another man inside the Jeep who had been shot in the head, Minchew said. That victim was rushed to Ben Taub General in an unknown condition.

Detectives recovered an upwards of 10 shell casings. Minchew said the gunfire appeared to be from close range.

It is unclear what prompted the shooting, Minchew said
