This weekend, the city will host the Houston Pride Festival and Parade.

Special circumstances might make this year’s event might be the busiest one yet.
The Stonewall Rebellion of 1969 is viewed as the start of the modern LGBT rights movement. The six-day riot began inside of the Stonewall Inn in the Greenwich Village, a neighborhood of New York City.
The incident was the tipping point of years of frustration and conflict between police and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youths, as well as other residents of the city.
Last weekend, Baewatch x Salvation took over Clé in Midtown for a Saturday afternoon of music and poolside celebration. Entertainment included DJs Joe Gauthreaux and Rocabye and singer Siya from the “Sisterhood of Hip Hop” reality show.

However, if you have important engagements or plans in and near the city, be aware that getting around will almost certainly take longer than it normally would.
Above, you can see the parade route, which is colored blue.
The red lines on the map represent all roads that are closed.
The area outlined and shaded in purple is the area that is being used for the celebration, (the finish line of the parade, which is marked with a green and yellow dot, is located at the corner of Milam Street and Pease Street).
The starting point of the parade, which is marked with a black, is located at the corner of Lamar Street and Smith Street
