Man arrested in shooting death of sleeping 11-year-old at Channelview home

A 21-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the death of a child who was shot while sleeping at his Channelview home, according to police.

The suspect, Sonnie Reyes, is believed responsible for the June 9 shooting that killed 11-year-old Kamren Jones as he slept at his home in the 15000 block of N. Brentwood Drive.

Kamren and his six siblings — whose ages range from 5 to 15 — had been living at the rental for only a month. The shooting left the home and the family car riddled with bullets.
