Man found fatally shot at Grand Prairie apartment complex

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man at a Grand Prairie apartment complex early Thursday.

Officers found Derrick Johnson with an apparent gunshot wound to the back after responding to a shooting call about 12:30 a.m. in the 2600 block of South Forum Drive, WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reported.

Johnson was hospitalized and later died from his injuries.

Police believe Johnson and the suspect knew each other, and the investigation is ongoing.
