Storms tonight, then days of rain

Cloudy and humid weather returned Sunday, with occasional drizzle and sprinkles of light rain. But the best rain chances hold off until the evening, when a strong cold front will blow through North Texas, generating showers and thunderstorms.

There is some chance that a few isolated storms could become severe, with the potential for hail, mainly between 6 and 8 p.m. The best chance for severe storms will be east of Dallas. But more widespread non-severe storms are expected across DFW between 10 pm and midnight when the cold front arrives.

Temperatures will be more than 20 degrees colder on Monday, with occasional showers. More widespread heavy rain is expected Tuesday and Wednesday, with continued cold temperatures. But the sun should finally return on Thursday.
