Prepare for a messy morning commute

Widespread and steady rain continues across North Texas Wednesday morning. It will be heavy at times, but the heaviest is likely to be south and southeast of the DFW metro area. The bottom line: keep the umbrella nearby. Also, you might want to give yourself more travel time, ponding on roads and spray could be a problem during the morning commute, so be careful on the roads.

The rain will continue through the morning hours, but will taper off and begin to move away from DFW by the afternoon. Before all is said and done, rain totals will range from around an inch in DFW with two or more inches to the southeast.

The sun will finally return on Thursday. Friday and the weekend will feature milder temperatures.
