Dallas police investigating after man found fatally shot on South Dallas street

Dallas police are investigating after a man was found fatally shot Thursday on a street in South Dallas.

Officers responded to a shooting call just after 7:15 p.m. at 4900 Wanda St., near Elsie Faye Heggins Street and South Lamar Street near SM Wright Freeway.

The victim was found face down on the side of the street with a gunshot wound, police said. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office is working to identify him.No other information about the shooting was available.
