A Southlake concert tradition will continue this year with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

For the eleventh consecutive year, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is returning to Southlake to present its annual holiday concert at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

The family-friendly program, “Sounds of the Season,” will take place Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. and feature the orchestra’s brass and percussion sections. The orchestra’s conducting fellows Alex Amsel and Stephanie Rhodes Russell will lead the performance. The performance is being presented in conjunction with the Apex Arts League.

The concert will carry COVID-19 restrictions. Tickets will exclusively be sold ahead of the event online. There will be no ticket sales at the door. A maximum of 300 seats will be available for the concert, said Katie Kelly, communications manager with the Fort Worth Symphony.

Additional COVID-19 precautions include seating in every other pew with unused pews roped off. Organizers are asking patrons to sit six feet apart. Masks are required and attendees will have temperature checks upon entry. In addition, the ensemble will be set up in a socially distanced manner on stage and will make use of special bell covers to reduce aerosol spread, Kelly said.
