QUETTA: Four international squash players, including female players reached Quetta on Friday for taking part in the ongoing Balochistan International squash league.
The international players who arrived on Friday include Nouran Gohar of Egypt, Alivia Clyne of USA, Alan Clyne Scotland and Karim Abdel Gawad of Egypt.
Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, welcomed the participation of international squash players in the tournament. “Participation of top international squash players in the squash tournament proved Balochistan has become a complete peaceful province,” he told a press conference in the presence of international squash players and Agha Omer Ahmedzai, President Balochistan Squash Association.
Chief Minister said that the present government was taking all possible steps to provide maximum sports grounds and facilities to the youths of Balochistan. “We are constructing high standard sports complexes in all the 33 districts of Balochistan,” he disclosed.
He said that a modern cricket stadium has been constructed in the port city ofGwadar, which could be used for holding international cricket matches. “We will make efforts to hold PSL-5 matches in Balochistan.
Agha Omer, President Balochistan Squash Association, said that 32 national and international lawyers were participating in the squash tournament that include 16 male and same number females players.
Foreign players expressed their pleasure over taking part in the great event in Quetta. “ I am happy to be here to play matches,” Egyptian female player world No-3 Nouran Gohar said.
