Pindi commissioner angered by deplorable RMC affairs

RAWALPINDI: Commissioner retired Capt Mohammad Mehmood on Friday expressed anger over the sorry state of affairs in Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) offices.

During a surprise visit to the RMC offices, he found furniture broken, iron cabinets rusting and records of files in a messy condition.

He said building plans would be computerized so that people could be informed about the status of their complaints without any delay.

He said that the basic aim of the civic body was to facilitate the residents and provide all the civic facilities. He said that development work would be started soon and building plans would be approved after checking the sites.

He directed the RMC officials to provide full protocol to the citizens coming to the Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation which include proper seating arrangement.

He said that the salaries of all government officials and officials are being paid from the residents taxes but they have not been provided facility when they come to the government institutions for their work.

The commissioner also inspected the bathrooms and kitchens of the building and termed the hygienic condition unsatisfactory.

The commissioner said the furniture of all the offices of the Metropolitan Corporation should be repaired within a month, all the records should be arranged with date and title, and the roof of the building should also be cleaned.

He said Ali Abbas Bukhari was appointed recently and he expressed the hope that he would ensure implementation of all instructions.

He said all the offices in which the citizens move should be repaired and the provision of best furniture should be ensured to them.
