Only option before PM is to step down, says Bilawal

LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has no other option but to step down.

Bilawal said in his separate meetings with the party’s lawmakers and leaders at Naudero House on Thursday that people were demanding Imran Khan’s resignation. The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government would prove to be the most corrupt in the history of Pakistan, he said.

Bilawal had a detailed meeting with Gul Mohammad Jakhrani, former federal law minister, and president of PPP Kashmore-Kandhkot chapter and discussed party affairs and proposed anti-government protest campaign.

He also met with Mumtaz Chang, PPP MPA in Punjab Assembly, and Mir Abid Sundrani from Kashmore, member of Sindh Assembly, and discussed obtaining political situation with them, said party sources.

According to PPP’s media cell, Bilawal discussed with Sundrani the situation in Sindh in particular the party affairs in Kashmore. The lawmaker briefed the party chairman about the state of affairs in his constituency.

Bilawal said that Kashmore people had always lent support to PPP in elections and hence the party would continue to look after them and carry out uninterrupted development in different sectors in the area.

He also met PPP MPA from Warah, Burhan Chandio, and exchanged views with him on political situation in the province. The MPA briefed the chairman about the issues of people of Qambar-Shahdadkot and said that PPP had always focused on undertaking pro-people development projects in the constituency.

During his stay, Bilawal is scheduled to inaugurate the Larkana Industrial Estate being established near Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University on Airport Road on Friday. The estate spread over 194 acres has capacity to house 94 industrial units which will create job opportunities for over 20,000 people.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister’s Adviser on Universities and Boards and PPP Sindh president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, and Sindh Minister for Trade, Industries and Anti-corruption Jam Ikramullah Dharejo would accompany the chairman, said the sources.

Bilawal would also speak at a public meeting for which invitation cards to notables and partymen had been issued, said the sources.
