Lakewood Elementary teacher arrested on child-pornography charge, Dallas police say

A Lakewood Elementary School first-grade teacher has been arrested on a child-pornography charge, Dallas police say.

Kevin Rayo, 25, was booked into the Dallas County jail Monday on one count of possession of child pornography. His bail was set at $25,000, and it is unclear whether he has an attorney.

Dallas ISD said in a written statement Tuesday that the district “was made aware of extremely serious allegations involving a teacher” on Monday but that it would not comment further on the case because it is a personnel matter. The district did not say whether Rayo was still employed.

“We remain committed to the well-being and safety of our students, staff, and families and are focused on providing appropriate resources to those impacted,” the district said.

Anyone with additional information about the case or who believes their child may be a victim may contact police at 214-275-1300.
