Teen killed in shooting outside Fort Worth high school is identified

A teenage boy who died after a shooting outside Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth has been identified.

Police were called about 5:20 p.m. June 7 to the school, near Meadowbrook Drive and Weiler Boulevard, where a shooting had been reported in the parking lot. According to a police incident report, a 911 caller said the shooter drove away.

The teen was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition.

He died Tuesday from a gunshot wound to the shoulder and neck. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified him as 17-year-old Jaylen Patterson of Keller.

Police have not announced any arrests in the case.
