61-year-old man fatally shot in South Dallas, police say

A 61-year-old man was fatally shot Sunday evening in South Dallas, police say.

Officers who responded to the shooting shortly before 8 p.m. in the 2900 block of Gould Street, near Botham Jean and Cedar Crest boulevards, found Ronnie Joseph Berry had been repeatedly shot. He died at a nearby hospital, police said.

No information about what led to the shooting was released.

Investigators were seeking the public’s help to identify the person who killed Berry. Anyone with information may contact Detective Reginald Woods at 214-283-4955 or reginald.woods@dallascityhall.com and refer to case number 118541-2021.

Crime Stoppers, which can be reached at 214-373-8477, is offering as much as $5,000 for tips that lead to an arrest and indictment.
