Watch Irving police officers sing car karaoke to spread a little Christmas cheer

Who among us can resist singing aloud to Christmas tunes?

Clearly, not even police.

The Irving Police Department shared a video on social media of two officers playing their own car karaoke to Christmas favorites like “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “All I Want for Christmas.”

In the video, officer Karli Malone begins the shift by enthusiastically singing from the passenger seat, while her partner, officer Michelle Kotlik, who is driving, rolls her eyes and tries to change the station.

By the end of the shift, both officers are happily belting out lyrics, with Malone wearing a Santa hat and Kotlik sporting sunglasses.

Irving police spokesman officer Robert Reeves said the department’s media affairs team came up with the idea to spread a little Christmas cheer and connect with the community.

“We are just like everyone else and like to have a good time when we can,” he said. “No need to be serious all the time, life is too short.”
