33-year-old man shot during robbery in far northeast Dallas

A man was shot early Monday during a robbery in far northeast Dallas, police say.

Officers were called about 4:45 a.m. to the 9700 block of Forest Lane, east of Interstate 635, where they found the man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man, 33, said he was walking to his vehicle when someone “came out of nowhere” and shot at him, police said.

The gunman took the man’s wallet and fled the scene, police said. A detailed description of the robber has not been provided.

Dallas Fire-Rescue took the victim to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, authorities said.
