Jalin Damone Charles, 18, was riding in a vehicle with the unidentified victim at about 9:30 p.m. on Scott near Luca, police said, when the two had an apparent argument and climbed out of the car, HPD homicide detective Kyle Heaverlo said.

Charles then alleged opened fire, killing the other man. He has been charged with murder in state district court.

HPD asks those with information about the incident or Charles’ location to call the department’s homicide division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
