Houston airports monitoring traffic as East Coast sees air traffic controllers call out

Houston’s airports are monitoring traffic as media report a brief ground stop for flights arriving into New York’s LaGuardia airport due to a shortage of air-traffic controllers, the latest pain point as the government shutdown drags on and workers have now missed two paychecks.

A special program to manage the air traffic is now in place, causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 26 minutes.
