Sarwar says justice will be done in Sahiwal case

FAISALABAD: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar says the government will dispense justice in the Sahiwal incident and action has been taken against the officials following initial inquiry report.

Speaking to journalists at the Government College University Faisalabad convocation on Tuesday, he promised that the case would be dealt with impartially.

He said medical facilities would be provided to the PML-N leaders following the medical board recommendations.

The governor said the government was focusing on the higher education to impart modern skills to the students enabling them to face the future challenges. He said efforts were afoot to improve the research culture in the universities.

No political intervention in the transfer and posting affairs would be tolerated, he said.

The governor asked the vice chancellors to focus on character building of the students.

He congratulated the successful students and distributed medals and degrees.

The acting vice chancellor of the GCUF, Dr Nasir Ameen said two sub-campuses would be set up in Chiniot and Hafizabad.

He said the university obtained first position second time in the research activities in Punjab. He said four new blocks and eight girls’ hostels had been constructed on the new campus of the university and two more hostels were under construction.
