Restoration of peace in Karachi paved way for healthy activities, says CM Shah

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the restoration of peace in Karachi has paved the way for holding sports, arts and crafts, literacy and other healthy activities in the metropolis.

The chief minister said this while addressing the Commissioner Karachi Marathon held on Sunday.

Shah said that the credit for the restoration of peace in Karachi goes to police, Rangers and army, and also to the citizens of Karachi who had given a lot of sacrifices and support for the operation.

“I am sure this [marathon] would further encourage people to play their due role for the peace and prosperity in Karachi,” he said. The chief minister said he will also compete in the next marathon.

“This city has given us a lot and now we all have to pay back to make it one of the most prosperous, beautiful and peaceful city,” Shah said.

Shah said that the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was held in Karachi last year and such activities had been multiplying.

“This year five PSL matches will be played in the citywhich shows the confidence of the international communities in Karachi,” he said.

While speaking to media, Shah said that the PSL would be a great event adding that he had himself chaired a joint meeting with the PSL organisers, law enforcement agencies and divisional administration.

Shah added that strict security measures had been taken for the PSL matches, which may cause certain problems for the citizens of Karachi, but he would try to minimise the inconvenience to people.
