Court Rejects Meesha Shafi Plea For Not Recording Statements Of Witnesses

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / Online – ) Session court Lahore has rejected Singer Meesha Shafi‘s plea for not recording the statements of witnesses in defamation case.Additional session judge Lahore Amjad Ali Shah took up defamation case filed by actor Ali Zafar against singer Meesha Shafi for hearing on Saturday.During the course of hearing, court observed, “Have witnesses come in the court“?Counsel of Meesha Shafi said that case pertaining to record the statements is pending hearing in the Supreme Court therefore we should wait till the decision of SC.Counsel prayed court that it should give us time till the decision of SC .Counsel of Ali Zafar said that he has come in the court along with witnesses; court should record their statements’.He said sessions judge Lahore too has issued orders to record statements today.Court while rejecting the appeal of Meesha Shafi‘s counsel started recording statements.

Statement of Model Kinza Munir has been recorded .Model Kinza Munir in her statement said that she was present at the private studio where Meesha Shafi levelled allegation of harassment against Ali Zafar.She said rehearsal of concert was going on in the studio while 10 to 11 people were present in rehearsal.She said rehearsal continued for almost 45 minutes.When Meesha Shafi reached studio she had sent greetings to Ali Zafar by hugging him and after completion of the rehearsal she said bye in the same manner.Kinza Munir said that a video was also made during the rehearsal.Both were standing at the distance of four to five feet from each other .She said Meesha’s allegations of harassment against Ali Zafar were false.Court while summoning more witnesses to record statements on next hearing adjourned the hearing till May 18
