Watch: Man uses machete to avenge sideswipe in Dallas road-rage incident

A man armed with a machete was recorded smashing a driver’s windows in a road-rage incident last week on LBJ Freeway, police said.

The altercation happened just before 9 a.m. Friday after two cars collided on the interstate in far northeast Dallas, police said.

Video obtained by KXAS-TV (NBC5) appeared to show the two vehicles sideswiping each other as the man attempted to move his car ahead of the victim’s.

After the cars collided once more, the man exited his vehicle, walked to the other driver’s car and swung the weapon multiple times to shatter its windows, the video showed.

The victim told police the man initially bumped into the back of his car, and he collided with the man’s vehicle intentionally to prevent him from driving away.

He described the weapon as a bat to police, but officials told NBC5 they believed it was a machete after they reviewed video of the incident.

The man with the machete fled the scene, and an arrest hasn’t been made.
