3 injured as juvenile carjacker crashes into building on Mockingbird Lane, police say

Three people were injured when a juvenile carjacker crashed into a northeast Dallas business Friday night.

Police were called about 6:15 p.m. to the 5700 block of East Mockingbird Lane, near Greenville Avenue, where the victim said she had found the juvenile in her 2006 Ford Explorer. She confronted the juvenile, which led to “a brief physical altercation,” police said

The juvenile then put the SUV in drive and floored the gas pedal. The car’s owner was dragged and then run over as the Ford crashed into Floyd’s 99 Barbershop, police said.

The juvenile ran off but was apprehended by police a short time later.

Two people inside the salon were injured and taken to a hospital. The Ford’s owner was treated at the scene.

The suspect was taken to Dallas police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. Police did not release any additional information about the incident
