One arrested, officer injured after botched robbery and chase, police say

An apparent robbery attempt Saturday morning led to a high-speed police chase that left a police officer injured and a suspect in custody, authorities said.

Police said that a group of men tried to rob a pawn shop in the 8200 block of the North Freeway around 9:30 a.m., KTRK-TV reported.

When police arrived, the men fled and led police on a short chase, during which an officer’s vehicle was struck. The men crashed their vehicle at Englewood at Calvacade.

One of the suspects was arrested, police said. The remaining suspects are still at large
