An officer was dispatched to the West U PD Lobby in regard to an Identity theft.
At 3:45 p.m., a police officer was dispatched to 700 San Jacinto to pick up an individual, who had outstanding warrants with the city of West University Place. The individual (Shelby Lenoir) was taken into custody and transported to the West University Place jail for booking process.
May 18
An officer was dispatched to the West U PD Lobby in regards to a report of identity theft.
An officer was dispatched to the station in regards to a found property. It was reported that a key was located in the 6400 block of Sewanee Street. A report was generated.
An officer observed a vehicle run the stop sign at the intersection of the 3200 block of Tangley and the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was initiated and during the course of contact, the officer was able to detect an odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and marijuana was found in the vehicle. The driver was given the opportunity and agreed to participate in a Harris County drug program. The driver was provided the necessary information and released from the scene.
An officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted and after further investigation, the officers discovered the driver to be in possession of marijuana and warrants with the Houston Police Department. The driver was placed in custody for the warrants. The driver also chose to participate in the Misdemeanor Marijuana Diversion Program and was released to Houston Police Officer from the West University Place Jail.
May 19
An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound at a high rate of speed in the 6500 block of Buffalo Speedway. A traffic stop was conducted and after further investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana. The driver chose to participate in the Misdemeanor Marijuana Diversion Program and was released from the scene.
An Officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby Dr. in reference to an individual leaving a restaurant without paying. A theft report was generated.
May 20
An officer observed a vehicle traveling northbound in the 5900 block of Buffalo Speedway with an expired registration. The officer also observed the vehicle fail to signal when changing lanes in the 5800 block of Buffalo Speedway. After further investigation it was discovered the driver forged the insurance card he presented to the officer. The driver was arrested for Forgery.
An Officer was dispatched to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Jail to pick up an individual with warrants through the City of West University Municipal Court. The individual (Irma Wooten) was taken into custody and transported without incident.
An officer was dispatched to 6800 Buffalo Speedway to meet with a Harris County Precinct 1 Deputy that had an individual in custody with warrants out of the City of West University Place. Subject attempted to cause injury to himself while in custody. The subject was transported to Houston Methodist Hospital and released into the care of the Psychiatric Unit.
May 23
An Officer was dispatched to the 3300 block of Rice, to speak with a reportee in regards, to a theft that had already occurred
