Man Shot, Killed Inside Car Outside Garland Business, Police Search for Suspects

Police are investigating after a man was shot in a parking lot early Saturday morning and died later that night.

According to Garland police, at 4:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to a business parking lot located on the 2100 block of Northwest Highway for a person shot.

When they arrived, they found a man inside of a Lexus suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Kevin Hollis Lyons, was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting and are interviewing witnesses.

Police believe there were multiple suspects involved. They fled traveling westbound on LBJ Freeway in a light in color, possibly Toyota truck. Surveillance video recovered from the scene revealed a vehicle entering onto the freeway at a high rate of speed after the shooting.

If anyone has information related to this incident, they are asked to call Garland police at 972-485-4840. A reward of up to $5000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest.
