A few thunderstorms possible Sunday

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A little surge of moisture from the Gulf helped pop up a few showers Saturday afternoon. Sunday will bring another chance for a few more showers and storms.

Isolated showers will be possible near the coast Sunday morning. These could then move further inland in the afternoon. Storms could bring heavy rain and lightning. If we see a strong storm, gusty winds and small hail cannot be ruled out.

The heat ridge will continue to keep rain chances very slim as we head into the first part of the work week.

Toward the end of next week, rain chances will climb again as the heat ridge backs away and deeper moisture returns to Southeast Texas. For now we have a 30-40% chance of thunderstorms in the forecast Thursday through the weekend.
