Accident on Central Expressway involving 18-wheeler causes miles-long backup near downtown Dallas

A crash Monday afternoon involving an 18-wheeler snarled traffic for miles along southbound Central Expressway, near downtown Dallas.

Police said the accident, involving the 18-wheeler and a car, happened about 1:30 near the exit to Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

Police had not provided information about what led to the accident or whether anyone was injured.

The road was clear as of 5:45 p.m., according to TxDOT data.
