RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – APP – 26th Apr, 2019 ) :In-charge Anti-Polio drive Chaudary Muhammad Hussain Friday said the five-day anti-polio campaign, which began in the entire district including cantonment boards areas on April 22, has been extended for one day more.

The campaign has to reach thousands of children, remained unattended or their parents refused administering polio drops during the campaign.

The anti polio campaign in-charge said the campaign was affected due to Peshawar rumours and the campaign would now continue till April 27.

He said, “We have so far administered polio drops to more than 850,000 children and the set target to administer drops to 864,977 children would be achieved till Saturday, he added.

He further told that anti�polio drops would be administered to children upto 10 years in 12 union councils (UCs) including six UCs of the city and six wards in Rawalpindi Cantonment area till April 29 which had been declared high risk areas vulnerable for polio virus.

He advised parents to come to forward and fulfill their obligation of ensuring vaccination of their children to help eliminate the crippling disease.

He said a healthy child was essential for a healthy society and this message should be conveyed in every nook and cranny of the district
