Authorities arrest murder suspect after Terrell shooting victim dies

A 38-year-old man accused in a fatal shooting in Terrell has been arrested, police said.

Terrell police and the Texas Rangers found Michael Roy Sanders Jr. on Saturday night in Dallas and took him into custody. Terrell police had been searching for him as a suspect in the Aug. 1 shooting of 37-year-old Chad Jobe.

Police said Jobe was shot multiple times in the 300 block of West Newton Street.

Jobe was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. On Aug. 3, he died from his injuries, police said.

Police didn’t provide further details about the shooting or Sanders’ arrest.

Sanders was booked into the Kaufman County jail Sunday on a murder charge. No bail amount was listed in online records.
