Body of deputy’s daughter found in N. Houston apartment

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The body of a woman was found Thursday morning inside a north Houston apartment and authorities are calling the death a homicide.

Sgt. Michael Casso with Houston Police Department’s homicide unit said a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy was checking on his daughter at her apartment in the 300 block of W. Little York. Casso said a maintenace person let the man in and they found his daughter shot and killed in the bathroom.

Our homicide investigators are on the scene of a fatal shooting of a woman found inside an apartment at 301 W. Little York Rd about 11:10 am. No other known information at this time. Please avoid the area.

Casso said the woman was dropped off at the apartment complex on Tuesday and she has not been seen or heard from since.

” I don’t have a suspect but we have people that we need to talk to,” Casso said. “An ex-boyfriend that may have been living with her here at the time. We don’t know his whereabouts right now or if he’s been injured. We don’t know his involvement so we do need to track him down and talk to him.”

Investigators have not named the victim, but Harris County Sheriff deputies were on scene consoling a group of people.
