Amidst strains accelerating on the border between India and Pakistan, numerous prominent voices from either side have come out cheering for not war, but peace.
The pacifying voices included a few Bollywood stars like Meera Chopra who in the wake of the week’s events has not hesitated in lauding the efforts for peace that Pakistan has laid out.
Turning to Twitter the actor was all praises for Prime Minister Imran Khan after his decision of releasing Indian Air Force’s detained pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman to head back to his homeland on Friday.
“Huge respect for this man @ImranKhanPTI , a big thank you for returning #Abhinanadan tomorrow and truly setting an example that we all want peace,” she stated.
PM Imran Khan had announced on Thursday that Abhinandan would be allowed to go back to India via Wagaah Border on Friday, as a gesture of peace.
