A popular Houston burger joint is opening a second location in the Galleria area.
Burger-Chan, featured on Alison Cook’s 2018 “Top 100 Houston restaurant” list, will open its doors at 5353 West Alabama in early 2020, owners/operators Diane and Willet Feng told Chron.com
The menu at the 2,200 square-foot locale will remain mostly the same, according to Willet, a former sous chef at Oxheart.
Expect house-made sauces, hot dogs, sandwiches, hand-cut French fries and milkshakes.
There’s also Burger-Chan’s signature roster of burgers, from a build-your-own option to the Texan with pepper jack cheese, bacon and guacamole to the Spicy Burger.

A five-ounce ground chuck patty comes topped with pepper jack cheese, house-made sambal mayonnaise and jalapenos three ways: charred, house pickled, and fresh.
New items in the works include rotating entrees, from whole fish to steaks to roast, available at dinner. Onion rings are also a possibility, Willet said.
The drink menu will include beer and wine.
Burger-Chan’s first location launched in 2016 at Greenway Plaza’s underground food court, The Hub.

“After being at The Hub for three years, we’re itching to do more,” Willet said.
That may also include a new concept for the Feng’s: A Singaporean eatery.
Willet, who lived in Singapore for a few years, wants to bring those flavors to Houston, he said
