HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Moments after news broke that Houston Police Officer Jason Knox died after Saturday morning’s helicopter crash, condolences began to pour in for the entire department.
Our hearts are broken for the family of @houstonpolice Tactical Flight Officer Jason Knox. Officer Knox is survived by his wife, @cyfairfd Dispatcher, and their two beautiful children.

Early this morning, two @houstonpolice officers were involved in a helicopter crash.
Unfortunately, one officer has passed.
I ask our city to pray for both families. May God bring healing to both families while bringing comfort to our Houston Police Department family.

Waking up to tragic news out of Houston. One Houston Police Officer has passed away and another is in critical condition after an HPD helicopter responding to a scene was forced to crash land. Prayers to both Officers, their families and Houston PD.

Two police officers were on board the chopper. At the time of the crash, they were conducting a search for a reported body in a bayou. “Despite the valiant efforts of (rescuers and medical doctors), one Houston police officer succumbed to his injuries,” said @ArtAcevedo .
Saturday’s death was the first for the department since Sergeant Christopher Brewster was shot and killed in December 2019.
