Dallas police investigating after man found dead along South R.L. Thornton Freeway service road

Dallas police are investigating after a man was found dead Friday along an east Oak Cliff road.

Officers responded to a call about an unresponsive man on the sidewalk about 3:40 a.m. in the 400 block of the northbound South R.L. Thornton Freeway, near East Seventh Street and Eads Avenue.

The man was identified as 30-year-old Tyler Wengert.

No other information about the incident was available. Dallas police are investigating the incident as a murder.
