Texas adds 42 new coronavirus deaths, 1,081 more COVID-19 cases

Across Texas, 1,081 more coronavirus cases were reported Saturday, including 973 new cases and 108 older ones recently reported by labs. The state also reported 42 new COVID-19 deaths, bring its death toll to 50,403. Of the new cases, 762 were confirmed and 211 were probable. Of the older cases, 97 were confirmed and 11 were probable. Two bodies were found in an east Oak Cliff home early Saturday, Dallas police said. Patrol officers were dispatched on a call about 2:30 a.m. in the 4800 block of Haas Drive, near Cummings Park and Sunnyvale Street, police said.
