SARGODHA: Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi, the custodian of Dargah Sial Sharif in Sargodha, Wednesday reiterated their demand for a resignation by Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and said that it was “final.”
Speaking to the media, Pir Sialvi said that they would have no association with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) moving forward.
“We have submitted an application for holding a rally in Faisalabad and the demand for Rana Sanaullah’s resignation is final,” the custodian of Dargah Sial Sharif said.
He also claimed that 15 lawmakers of the ruling PML-N are with them.
“These lawmakers would announce their resignations at the Khatm-e-Nabuwat Conference on December 10,” Pir Sialvi said.
On Sunday, the custodian of Dargah Sial Sharif had postponed his demand for Sanaullah’s resignation, following his telephonic conversation with Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif.
His nephew, MPA Nizamuddin Sialvi, had confirmed the development saying the Punjab CM told Sialvi that Sanaullah is ready to appear before him and address all concerns.
Earlier, Punjab Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs Zaeem Qadri had also called on Sialvi.
Sialvi had asked Qadri to ask Sanaullah to publicly explain his position with regard to Ahmedis, recite the Kalma and step down as Punjab’s law minister.
Later during various televised interviews following Qadri’s meeting with Pir Sialvi, Sanaullah had said that the people around Pir Sialvi had created misunderstandings.
He had also promised to address their reservations soon.
