Domestic dispute led to massive fire at Haverstock Hills, suspect sought, officials say

A 24-year-old man is accused of intentionally starting a fire at a northeast Harris County apartment complex that displaced dozens of people after he and his girlfriend got into a fight, officials said.

James London has been charged with arson for his involvement in the massive blaze at Haverstock Hills Friday that left about 50 people without a home, according to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Investigators spoke to witnesses at the scene, who were able to provide details on how the fire occurred, officials said.

It is believed that London started the fire after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, officials said.

About two dozen apartment homes were damaged in Friday’s fire at the three-story apartment complex
