Elderly woman dies after Spring house fire

An elderly woman died on Sunday after suffering severe burns during a house fire in Spring.

Authorities confirmed that the unidentified 68-year-old woman died shortly after she was transported to a local hospital.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 6 p.m. to a home in the 22500 block of Leafygate Drive, in the subdivision of Greengate, the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. Another female was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, authorities said
