Excessive heat warning into Saturday

An excessive heat warning has been issued for Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and counties to the south and east. This warning is in place until 7 p.m. Saturday.

High temperatures will climb into the 101 to 104-degree range through the weekend. Heat index values will approach 110 over the next few afternoons. Be sure to limit time outdoors and take the necessary precautions to stay cool and hydrated.

With the hot and breezy weather expected, there’s an elevated risk for grass-fires, especially to the west of DFW. Please avoid outdoor burning or any other activities that might create a spark.

If you’re not a fan of the heat, a pattern chance is possible early next week with cooler temperatures and rain chances starting late Sunday into Monday. Daily temperatures will drop into the mid to low 90s.
