Fleeing DWI suspect caught after causing crash in central Oak Cliff, Dallas police say

A fleeing driver was caught and taken into custody after causing a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in central Oak Cliff, Dallas police said.

The crash occurred around 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of West Illinois Avenue and Boyd Street. According to police, the driver of the vehicle that caused the crash tried to drive away on Boyd Street, but he lost control, drove across a residential lawn then crashed into a parked car in a driveway.

Police found him at the second accident site and took him into custody. He could face suspected DWI charges, among others, police said.

No information about injuries was available.
