Galveston deputies shoot and kill wanted fugitive after hours-long standoff

A wanted fugitive was shot and killed in a standoff with Galveston deputies Friday night.  The incident happened at 11 p.m. near the intersection of 6th street and Avenue B in Bacliff.

Deputies were initially notified by bond agents to find a man who had three felony warrants in Galveston County. When officers arrived, the man had barricaded himself inside a home. Deputies attempted to speak with him for several hours. According to authorities, the suspect reportedly walked out of home with a shotgun, and deputies opened fire

No deputies were injured in the incident.
