Gulf disturbance could bring heavy rainfall to Houston

A tropical disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico could bring some wet weather to Southeast Texas next week.

The system is currently moving toward southern Mexico and wet weather may land in the Houston region Tuesday through Wednesday, with widespread showers and increased chances of thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service

In the Houston area, rainfall may pick up by Wednesday with thunderstorms likely, according to the weather service.

The forecast calls for one to two inches of rain Tuesday and Wednesday in the area of Interstate 35 and Interstate 37 and eastward
