Here’s when Friday’s cool front could bring us storms

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A cool front arriving Friday afternoon could bring another round of showers and thunderstorms to Houston. It will feel a lot different Friday morning as muggy Gulf air builds in ahead of the front. Instead of sunrise temps near 60, you can expect temps in the lower 70s.

The cool front will reach Houston between 1 – 3 p.m. with a line of showers and scattered thunderstorms. There is a chance an isolated storm or two becomes severe with hail and high winds.

The good news is this front should knock high temps down into the 70s for the weekend. The humidity will also come crashing down, allowing morning lows into the 50s. It looks to be just about perfect for Mom on her special day.

After the weekend, it will quickly turn sticky again with rain chances returning as early as Tuesday. It will feel more like summer by the end of the week with a round of strong thunderstorms possible next weekend.
