Irving roadwork update: Overnight closure on SH 114, other projects that could affect your commute

MacArthur Boulevard at Rochelle Road: Traffic will be reduced and/or detoured at the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Rochelle Road from 6:30 a.m. Monday, March 30, weather permitting, for the repair of a water valve and repaving. The project is expected to be finished by noon, Friday, April 3. Detours and lane reductions/closures will be in place and marked with signage for drivers.

California Crossing Road: California Crossing Road is closed for utility work from Riverside Drive to Luna Road in Dallas. Work is scheduled to run through the summer, weather permitting. This closure is part of the Urban Lift Center Station project. Drivers can use West Northwest Highway (TX-348 Spur) or Tom Braniff Drive/Wildwood Drive as a detour.

Las Colinas Boulevard, from Wingren Drive to Lake Carolyn Parkway: Eastbound lanes of Las Colinas Boulevard from Wingren Drive to Lake Carolyn Parkway will be closed for underground utilities installation work. Two-way traffic — east and westbound — will be maintained in the westbound lanes. Work is scheduled to run through May 22, weather permitting. Drivers should expect delays in the area and seek alternate routes when possible.

Las Colinas Boulevard Project Phase 3: The southern half of Las Colinas Boulevard from Brazos Drive to Lake Carolyn Parkway is closed for underground utility work. During this time, the northern half of Las Colinas Boulevard will be available for two-way traffic. The project is expected to be complete in the fall.

Sunnybrook Drive, Cripple Creek Bridges, at Delaware Creek: Sunnybrook Drive is closed completely at the bridge crossing Delaware Creek, and Cripple Creek Drive is reduced to one lane at the bridge crossing Delaware Creek.

The Sunnybrook bridge will be removed entirely, while only half of the Cripple Creek bridge will be removed at a time. Drivers approaching the Cripple Creek bridge are cautioned to look for traffic already crossing the bridge and wait for opposing traffic to cross.

Removing the bridges will allow construction crews access to the drainage channel to install new wastewater lines, as well as reconstruct a deeper drainage channel with vertical walls. After the channel work is completed, the bridges will be rebuilt.

The one lane closure at the Cripple Creek Drive bridge and the closure of the Sunnybrook bridge are expected to last through the spring. Detour signs for Sunnybrook Drive are posted along Green Oaks Drive, Live Oak Drive, Colony Drive and Grauwyler Road.

Oak Meadow Drive Bridge, at Delaware Creek: Oak Meadow Drive is closed completely at the bridge crossing Delaware Creek through winter 2021. This is part of the same project affecting the Sunnybrook Drive and Cripple Creek Drive bridges.

Detour signs for Oak Meadow Drive are posted along William Brewster Drive, Green Oaks Drive, Colony Drive and Grauwyler Road.
