‘It’s mommy’s medicine’: ‘Missing’ boy found at home, surrounded by heroin, police say

A Pennsylvania woman is facing charges after the son she reported missing was found in her home, surrounded by drugs.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Leslie Brown, 29, called 911 from a Family Dollar in Pittsburgh to say her child was missing and she had lost sight of him in the store.

According to WPXI, Brown was frantic and told police that she and employees searched every aisle and back room.

However, surveillance video showed she had entered the store alone.

When officers traveled to the woman’s home, they found her son alone, surrounded by heroin and empty stamp bags.

The boy “was asked if he knew what this stuff which he stated that it was mommy’s medicine, she makes it sometimes,” an officer wrote.

Brown told police she makes the heroin herself with “certain over-the-counter products.”

“She had recently lost her job and was coping with some things which to her use of heroin and subsequent manufacturing in order to pay bills for the house,” the officer continued
