Killer at large after man shot in Garland neighborhood early Saturday

Homicide detectives are investigating a deadly shooting in a Garland neighborhood early Saturday.

Officers were called just after 2 a.m. to the 200 block of Rio Rita Drive, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police identified the victim as Edgar Mendoza Chico, 44, of Garland.

No arrests have been made in the shooting, which is being investigated as a homicide.
