KP CM pledges to resolve issues of Swat paramedics

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has promised to resolve the issues faced by paramedics in Swat district, saying the role of paramedics is vital in ensuring efficient delivery of healthcare services.

He said that employees of health department were already given incentives and in the future possible assistance would also be ensured according to the available resources to resolve their legitimate problems, according to a statement issued here.

The chief minister said the first and ultimate goal of all government initiatives was to provide relief, including the best healthcare services, to the marginalised community. He was talking to a delegation of paramedics from Swat at Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar.

Adviser to Chief Minister Ajmal Wazir, Additional Secretary Health Kaleem Baloch and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.

The delegation appreciated the steps taken by the provincial government to improve the health sector, particularly the incentives given to paramedics. The delegation informed the chief minister about the demands and issues being faced by paramedics.

The chief minister directed the health department to take measures for timely resolution of the problems in consultation with paramedics.

He said that provincial government was trying to resolve the problems in the health sector like shortage of manpower in all the public sector hospitals of the province, including the newly merged tribal districts.

He said that the initiatives taken by provincial government included increase in the incentives of existing employees. He said that new recruitments had also resolved the issue of shortage of staff to a greater extent.

The chief minister said that public sector institutions and their affiliates should perform their professional duties in the best manner to ensure efficient delivery of healthcare services.
